RESCUE STORY- Crested Serpent Eagle

A magnificent bird rescued by Fauna Police from Ghaziabad.

This Crested Serpent Eagle had a wound at his tail and wings. The wounds were stitched ( not may hospitals stitch wounds on birds) and she was released after recovering.

The beautiful Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela) is a medium-sized bird or prey or raptor bird, found in the tropical Asian forests. They earn their names from their feeding on snakes. They call often with a loud, piercing and familiar three or two-note call.

Their large heads, big alert eyes and strong huge wings make them a perfect preying bird. They follow snakes and lizards on the ground. Often they can bee seen hunting for food during morning time. These lovely birds often make loud noises on sensing danger.
