The worst maggot case

Ever saw such a deeply wounded dog with worst case of maggots?
This poor dog was rescued by Vineet Dhaiya from "Garden Of five senses" (Saket . The wound was a small one but the staff of the place had no clue whom to contact for its treatment.  Had the treatment been done on time , the wound would not have been in such a bad shape. Fauna Police's officer Vineet Dahiya alerted us and informed Abhinav Srihan who rushed to the spot to give the the dog first aid. Post the first aid rescue, SAI ASHRAM'S Ambulance took him to one of the most caring shelter in Delhi, where Mr Rajiv Vij and Dr. Vikas Gard attended to the dog. The dog's whole leg is reported to be badly infected. We pray for it's quick recovery.

PS- Fauna Police does not have shelter for large animals or birds. Do not solely depend on us for the rescues or first aids. Neither do we have  ambulance of our own, pertaining to which help often reaches late. We are in the process of possessing one soon. Donations are welcome for the contribution to the noble cause.

Please contact Fauna Police emergency helpline number for such cases: 9212111116, 9868355222

The abandoned adult German Spitz + Pom mix that my wife found and adopted on Oct 17 last had a somewhat similar size if not larger (it was around 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter and 1-2 inches deep) maggot infested wound around the base of its tail which was treated by the staff of Dr. Sudhir, Vet Clinic, in Eldeco 2, Lucknow. It used to stink terrible. After four days of treatment at Dr. Sudhir's which included intensive ridding of the wound of maggots that had gone deep inside, my wife having learnt how to do the same did it at home until the wound healed. Sure it must have done some damage to the colon as its pooh has been soft and shiny, but then Dr. Sudhir said it would take plenty of time for the muscles and tissues around to heal. Luckily before winter set in the wound had healed and could be kept indoors. We have named it Appy. We have always adopted adult abandoned German Spitz, but have never come across a Spitz with such a cool, loving, and friendly temperament as of Appy. It has only one ear standing, the other is flopped damaged.
